About Square Dancing at Private Events
Old-time square dancing is a fun and effective way to bring your community together in celebration, be it a wedding, corporate event, birthday party, company BBQ, camp out, or family reunion.
When I teach and call dances at an event, I strive to create a fun and relaxed social gathering. My style is warm, humorous, familiar and inviting. There’s no experience necessary, no need for lessons ahead of time or fancy costumes. The usual crowds at private parties and weddings are made up of guests with different levels of comfort with dancing, so I choose dances that will be appropriate for novices to experienced dancers, children, adults, and grandparents alike. I custom pick dances to suit your particular group.
A successful square dance pulls all of your guests together to enjoy each other and the live music without realizing they’ve had to learn a thing! I work with some of the best old-time string band musicians in the northwest, to provide you with fast-paced and rockin’ fiddle and banjo music that will pull you onto your feet and keep you dancing!
