Guitar Summer Camp for Grownups!

1Join Patrick and Maggie in our back yard to learn several great campfire sing-a-long songs on the guitar. We’ll even have one or two neighborhood teens available to babysit. That’s right, I said CHILD CARE AVAILABLE!

GUITAR BEGINNER 1, 2, and 3 – All Levels!

July 6, 13, 20, 27, August 3 (5 WEEKS)
Mondays 6:30 – 8:00pm

The cost is $30 for one class, $55 for two classes, $75 for three classes, $100 for four. Pay for all five classes at once and pay just $100. Songbook is included with payment regardless of the number of lessons you are able to attend.

Childcare will be available for Just $2 per kid per class. Reservations required, just let me know if you’re interested when you register. The class is located in my home in NE Portland.

To register please email me at

Prerequisite for this class is having taken one of my guitar classes in the past or comfort with playing basic open chords and being able to strum along. (This class is not for total from scratch beginners.)

We will work on about two songs a night, so a bit faster pace for some of you, but the chords will still be first position chords, so appropriate for all levels. We plan to offer break away sessions with Patrick for “fancier stuff” if there is momentum for this (Beginner 3 and Intermediate folks, we mean you!). With payment of the class tuition you will get a Maggie-style songbook of “help sheets” with about 10 great songs I have never taught before. Really want to do one of these songs? Please let me know when you register. Songs we are considering are:

There She Goes – The La’s
Love Song – The Cure
Patience – Guns β€˜n’ Roses
Down on the Corner – Creedance Clearwater Revival
Margaritaville – Jimmy Buffett
Stir It Up – Bob Marley
Sweet Home Alabama – Lynyrd Skynyrd
Come On Get Higher – Matt Nathanson
Chasing Cars – Snow Patrol
Wonderwall – Oasis
Three Marlenas β€“ The Wallflowers
Our House – Crosby, Still Nash & Young
True Colours – Cyndi Lauper
Day-O (The Banana Boat Song) – Harry Belafonte
All I Want Is You – U2
